new project awarded! merge has been selected by the san francisco arts commission to design a memorial that remembers and commemorates the loma prieta earthquake and the role of first responders. this will be a site-specific work set along the promenade on the marina green – currently scheduled to debut in 2015.
sfo terminal 3 opens–including our light sculpture, ‘sky’. located in the boarding area, the sculpture is comprised of 27 large mirror-polished stainless steel spheres with varying diameters that are suspended from the ceiling. the interior of the globes is illuminated by lighting that creates a soft interior glow, an ever changing pattern of light — and a unique art experience for travelers.
another airport project! ‘sublimare’ is a permanent installation for the new arrivals and departure plaza at the san diego international airport, terminal 2. drawing on the rich history of the san diego bay, this multimedia piece blends images of kelp with projected light that is driven by real time wave movements.
